On my second day in Brussels, I went to two museums with Art Nouveau collections.
Inside the impressive, Beaux Arts style Royal Museums of Fine Arts Belgium (which houses six museums), the The Fin de Siecle Museum is dedicated to the early 1900s when Brussels became the capital city of Europe. The expansive museum, covering the bottom four floors, starts mostly with paintings and posters on the first two floors, and the last two floors have a gasp-worthy collection of quintessential Art Nouveau sculptures, paintings, furniture, art objects, drawings, and posters. The collection of magnificent vases, pitchers, and glassware was an artistic knockout.

Another architecturally impressive building around the corner from the Royal Museums of Fine Arts Belgium is the BELvue Museum, which tells the complex history of Belgium from 1830, when Belgium was established as a nation, to the present day. Participating in the Art Nouveau events around Brussels, the BELvue has gathered a collection of Art Nouveau pieces from 10 of the most influential Belgian architects and designers of the period. Beautifully curated, the show features furniture, ceramic tiles, jewelry, art posters, sculptures and book covers.
