On the second morning when I visited Ile de Ré, when I opened the shutters of my hotel room, a thick fog blanketed the harbor. Although it was supposed to be sunny later in the day, I was thrilled by the sight of the fog, because we rarely have fog in Paris.
I immediately got dressed, and ran out of the hotel, even before eating their delicious breakfast and drinking thier strong coffee, to take photos. There’s a park area with lots of trees and walking paths along the sea. The fog covering parts of the trees was astonishingly beautiful and I took lots of photos. What was so interesting after I viewed the photos when I transferred them to my computer, was that part of them looked like black and white from the from the effect of the fog and the other parts, the faint greenness of the trees, the color came through. It was like having black and white and color in the same photo without having to make alterations.

I do love these! My two favorites are the tree with the lighthouse in the foggy background and the close up of the wall with the moss!

Love these fog photos! Esp the ones with the old wall and the one with three trees in the circular path. Great eye, Richard!
