I am traveling out of Paris this week, so I thought I would post all travel posts this week. Enjoy!
Last month, when I posted my story and photos, Fishing Boats in Marsaxlokk, Malta, I asked you if you liked my new travel posts format, where I would focus on a specific element or feature of the place I traveled to, rather than a general travel story. Almost all your responses were positive, so I am staying with that format.
When I was in Valencia last summer, while waiting for the tram coming back to our apartment from the beach, I noticed a series of two-story rowhouses. What made me take notice was the wrought iron gates covering wood doors, and the stucco facades painted in earthy and pastel colors of deep and pale orange, sage, beige, green, blush pink, and periwinkle blue. I was also intrigued by the texture of the ceramic tiles on some of the facades.
These houses reminded me of a series of brightly colored, colonial cottages I photographed in Cape Town in 2014. https://www.ipreferparis.net/2015/02/my-africa-adventure-bo-kaap-.html

I used the same type of framing for the Valencia houses. Do you see a similarity?
