I really enjoyed The Velvet Hours. It was also recommended as one of the top picks for 2017 by a book reviewer here in FL. About half way through, I Googled Boldini and was mesmerized to see the actual painting of Madame de Florian. It's an entertaining and easy read.

I enjoyed it too. It was an interesting story, made more interesting by the fact it was based on real events. I remember when it was reported that this apartment was closed for so long. Only in Paris! The other mystery is how it could remain locked for so long without any investigation. But the story nicely included much of what was beginning to happen just before WW2. I thought the author presented a plausible story line.

Love a Monet. Sound like a great read.
