Beautiful photos. I love Monet's gardens and house? The iPhone does quite a good job when you don't want to carry around a bigger camera. And you managed to catch a couple of shots inside the house. Shhhh. I won't tell anyone! 😉

Just stunning. Versailles must have been an odd experience right after Giverny!

How did you manage to get all these pictures with no people in them? And in August no less? Did you bribe someone to let you in early or to let you stay after closing time? The pics are gorgeous.

Enjoyed your post and the photos, thank you. Your account reminded me of the occasion when I and a friend visited Giverny at this time of year. Impulsively, we stopped on the Japanese footbridge and sat down with our sketchbooks. A guard rushed over, and, in French, admonished us to come back on a Monday, when, for a fee, artists were permitted to draw and paint, but not otherwise!

Incidentally, we took a convenient bus trip from Paris, which delivered us directly there and picked us up for the return.

I wrote a story in 2013 about painting after hours in Giverny. have a read at this link.
