I have shared my photo obsessions with you over the years: lanterns, doors, laundry, window boxes, and Venice doorbells.
When I was in Villefranche last week, I stumbled upon a new source for a photo obsession: drainpipes. Up and down the narrow corridors of old Villefranche were countless exposed drainpipes in metal and steel against the worn and decayed colored stucco building fronts. Many had chipped paint and walls that exposed the building’s façade, which gave them an tactile texture.
I would love your feedback. Which ones do you like best?

Great eye for detail, color, and finding beauty in everyday items. #2 with dainty flowers and #18 with someone going the extra mile by adding a perfect turquoise accent.

I love these, the colors, the combos with plants, tubes etc. The French Riviera surely lends itself to color! I am jealous of your travels.

What a great idea for photos! And the colors in Provence make those drainpipes even more interesting. I like that curvy, elbow one near the top and the one near the end with the leaves in the foreground...those colors are wonderful.

I love taking photos of (what most people would think of) obscure items. Somehow there is a graphic design kind of appeal for me. Of the ones you posted, the ones that popped for me were:
#1 – LOVE this one; #6 – love the colours and the fact that you really don’t know that it’s a drainpipe; #12 – the tree in front of the pipes, I just love all the lines; #15 – love the linear feel and the texture here; #17 – for the same reasons as #15; #18 – the texture here is so nice; #21 – the composition and colour is what catches me here.
Thanks for sharing your work
