Today is the start of my annual edition of Christmas in Paris, where I show you the festive store windows and holiday decorations.
Printemps has given carte blanche to one brand sponsor for its windows in the last three years, with Dior last year and Chanel the year before. Prada was the chosen label this year and the windows are adorned with the chicest shoes, clothes, and accessories. Since I used to be in the ladies show business, my favorite window was the one lined with rows of ladies evening shoes facing backwards showing off the jewel encrusted heel. Gwyneth Paltrow was the celebrity who inaugurated windows this season, decked out in an au courant black and white print strapless Prada dress.
Next door at Galeries Lafayette surprisingly there was less blatant brand promoting than at Printemps. The theme for the windows is Beauty and the Beast, which ties in with the upcoming film with Lea Sedoux and André Dussollier who officially launched the windows last month.
Both sets of windows are up till January 5, 2014.
