As I mentioned yesterday after returning from Fontainebleau, Carol and I stopped at Le Train Bleu for a drink.
It was about 4PM and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. We roamed the vast empty rooms with pristine table settings of crystal, porcelain, and crisp, starched white linen. We cricked our necks to look at the ostentatiously but tastefully decorated murals embellished with gold of La Belle Epoque life from the late 1800s.
Sipping our sparkling water, we watched travelers scurrying to and fro from the train station from our picture window in front of us.
It was a perfect ending to a delightful day and I look forward to many more day trips with Carol.

Of all the times I've walked through the Gare de Lyon, I've never ventured into Le Train Bleu. These photos show me that I need to do so. Gorgeous! Thanks.

How lovely, Richard. I fear my mouth would be hanging wide aghast with all that beautiful Belle Epoch design. I'm so glad you had a wonderful day!

I love Le Train Bleu!! But my friends in Grenoble have moved to Brittany, so now I'll have to go to the Gare de Lyon just for Le Train Bleu!
