A Shaded View on Fashion Film Festival
Now in its fifth fashionable year, A Shaded View on Fashion Film Festival is still the world’s first and foremost film festival dedicated to fashion, style and beauty. Diane Pernet, the creative genius and founder of the festival, has put together some of the top designers, brands, and celebs this year including Alexander McQueen, Christian Dior, Christopher Raeburn, Louis Vuitton, Costume National, Charlie Le Mindu, Agent Provocateur, Fabergé, Gianfranco Ferre, Manish Arora, Diesel, Richard Nicoll, Cassette Playa and Marni for H&M. Behind the lens are directors Sofia Coppola, Jim Jarmusch, Johan Renck, Alex Turvey, Joseph Lally and Ellen von Unwerth, who’s films will be shown.

Edward Hopper
Iconic American artist Edward Hopper was enamored with Paris when he visited in 1906 and was influenced by artists like Matisse. A large new retrospective shows 128 works including paintings, watercolors, sketches, and illustrations along side 35 comparative paintings by French artists.

A Little Love Music: Benefit for SOS
Enjoy some great jazz music in a glamorous setting at the British Embassy and also help a good cause. SOS is a non-profit volunteer organization that provides a telephone helpline service in English for people in emotional distress. Hosted by the British ambassador and his wife, there will be an evening of jazz followed by a reception.

The International Herald Tribune is celebrating its 125 anniversary this year with a wonderful show of their most celebrated photos of the last 125 years including images of Winston Churchill, President Kennedy, Catherine Deneuve, Jean Luc Godard, James Joyce, Ernest Hemingway, Mata Hari, Franklin Roosevelt, President De Gaulle, Gandhi, Josephine Baker, and a great photo of Cary Grant perched on a ledge atop the Hotel Raphael. The photos will be auctioned off on November 19 at 2PM at Drouot.

I am happy to announce the launch of Eye Prefer Paris Cooking Classes. Come take an ethnic culinary journey with me and chef and caterer Charlotte Puckette, co-author of the bestseller The Ethnic Paris Cookbook (with Olivia Kiang-Snaije). First we will shop at a Paris green-market for the freshest ingredients and then return to Charlotteís professional kitchen near the Eiffel Tower to cook a three-course lunch. After, we will indulge in the delicious feast we prepared along with hand-selected wines.
