I have passed this door many times near St. Sulpice and always thought it would make a great Door of the Month.
It is a true Art Deco door and the building was designed by architect Paul Delaplanche. I find many of the apartment buildings in Paris that were built later than 1885 have the architect’s and/or builders name etched into the building also with the year it was built.
The only information I could find on Delaplanche was that he designed three other apartment buildings in Paris in 1924, 1925, and 1957.

What fun to see this door again! For several years I stayed l'Hôtel de l'Abbaye on rue Cassette and walked by that door pretty much daily! It is lovely!
