I don't spend a lot of time in the 5th arr. but when I do I find it has a quirky charm to it. I sometimes do tours of the 5th and don't go to the more crowded student area but more towards the quieter part near the Jardin des Plantes, the Mosque, and the Arenes du Lutece. I find it also one of the areas least touched by time and less gentrified than most other parts of the city. There's a sleepiness about it as though it never woke up from the past centuries.
I have taken an odd series of photos on my different trips. The first batch are of street signs and building fronts on and near rue Grands Degrés.
The next 3 photos are of some cartoon-like street art off rue Monge
There's a travel agency called Le Comptoir des Voyages on the rue St. Victor right by the rue des Ecoles. The agency has a separate storefront that is painted a different color for each part of the world.
I thought the next photo could have been part of my reflection series.

Oh yes! The 5th Arrondissement is definitely one of the most beautiful areas of Paris. I've lived there as an au pair girl for 6 month many years ago and I still think of the area.
