My life as a photographer is rich in adventure, beauty, and wonder. Cartier-Bresson-like “decisive moments” emerge constantly, as the destinies of people and things and energies collide. Paris streets are full of photographic possibility.
My life as a teacher of photography is also rewarding. I am fed by my students’ creativity and passion. They help me to see things in a different way. I watch their work grow deeper with time, and I applaud the risks they take as they gain confidence in their own artistic vision.
The sad thing is that expats in Paris are transient. Most of my students this year are leaving for far-flung corners of the world. New adventures await … but I am sorry to see them go.
And so, for the farewell curtain call, we have organized an exhibition at the Grace Teshima Gallery PARIS MONTMARTRE (thank you, gracious Grace!). Join us … on a journey from India to Senegal, Paris to Venice, and snowy parks to rain-glistening streets. The photos below are a sneak preview. The exhibition, L’Esprit du Lieu is open on Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22 from 5–8 pm and on Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29 from 4–7 pm. For more information, email [email protected] or [email protected]. Come and support the arts. See you there!
