I think Place Vendome has the most festive decorations of the season. The simple white tubes and shimmering lights representing the trees in the forest are stunning.
The Ritz Hotel has a kitschy, old fashioned Santa and his reindeer tableau outside and inside polar bears carrying gifts, taking a snooze, and scaling the walls holding gold balloons are a hoot. The white flocked tree with gold balls is divine.
This is the last in the Christmas in Paris 2010 series. Did you like it?

I have forwarded this series to everyone. Today, as I passed a dreary Macy's window in Philadelphia, I instantly thought of your Photos, and, hung my head in despair. Style in Philly is fleeting.

Thank you for the Christmas in Paris pictures. This is the first time in more than 15 years we have missed the holidays there so it was great to see so many of our favorite places to visit. Merci !

You are so right. Place Vendome says it all. Even when the lights are off, Richard. The decorations were a delight. I loved certain aspects of Chanel's window: the lace on the trees was interesting and it gave me a hint that orange may be "hot" for spring/summer

Dear Richard,
I loved seeing Christmas in Paris. It made me feel just a little closer, and I thank you for that. As I mentioned yesterday, my favorite was Hermes with its wonderful over-the-top creativity. But, I am certainly in the minority here. I did not care for the decorations in Place Vendome. I thought it was "trying too hard" to be so ultra-moderne. I, personally, prefer the classic decorations with all their kitsch and gloppy style. This is where I feel that NYC does it better. The windows on 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue are SO spectacular, that it is hard to beat. Nevertheless, I still appreciate those in Paris and love seeing them. It is kind of like going to a museum and seeing a very popular painting that everyone says is so fabulous, and in your heart-of-hearts, you don't feel the same. You may appreciate it for what it is, but that particular piece is not your taste!
Keep the pictures coming. It simply draws us in that much more!
I hope that you and Vincent have a wonderful holiday season!
Love to you,
Claudia
