For Courtyard Week 4, I decided to focus more on courtyards that were untypical, maybe a little more eclectic and less manicured as some in the past. Some of them this week have strange mixes of architectural styles.
I love the sleepy stone lion surrounded by the pink flowers, which makes him seem less ferocious. I also like the way the glass panes reflect the clouds.

as a lover of great architecture and an adoring fool of old stuff I smile at those romantic shots (I particularly love the one upwards through an empty space) but then I look at it with the eye of a prospective buyer/seller and I shudder with all those wires badly hung up, just so.....
We bought our meulière like that - love on first sight and the rude awakening followed.... but what joy to live in a living place!!!
Thank you, Richard, for those lovely series of courtyards.
