Last month during couture week, there was the most clever display of linen garments on scarecrows in gardens of the Palais Royal. The outdoor exhibition,LINSTALLATION by Masters of Linen, was sponsored by CELC Masters of Linen(European Confederation of Linen and Hemp) and featured 20 top European designers. All the mannequins/scarecrows were set on a bed of flax and the exhibition was used to promote linen as a sustainable fabric. Designers included Jean Paul Knott, Alber Elbaz for Lanvin, Roberto Cavalli, Stella Cadente, Maison Martin Margiela, Vanessa Bruno, Gaspard Yurkievich, Didier Ludot (who did a little black dress, of course!), Stephane Rolland, and 80s shoulder pad master Thierry Mugler.
