Across the street from my Door of the Month yesterday, is a lovely square in front of the St. Germain des Pres Church. On the far end of Square Felix Desruelles (French sculptor,1865-1943), is a massive wall with the most exquisite ceramic work. It was built for the Universal Exposition of 1900 by Manufacture de Sevres, the prestigious porcelain company created in 1740 with the support of Louis XV and Madame de Pompadour.
