I pass this most unusual door all the time on my way to the Pompidou Center. As much as I like the door, I think the mosaic decorating the top of the building is even more impressive. I have not been able to find any information about this building in my research. It's one of those modern buildings that's hard to peg in terms of when it was built. I'm guessing 60s or 70s but some of the details look like Art-Deco. If anyone has more information about the building, please put it in the comments section.

I immediately went to my very useful book "one thousand buildings of Paris" Sorry the building is not in the book, however I recommend that you get a copy of this book. it contains pictures and descriptions of 1000 Paris buildings.
