Here are two stories about some recent warm and wonderful Eye Prefer Paris tour clients.
Cheryl is a retired French teacher and bona fide francophile from St. Louis. When she requested a tour,I was very touched by the story behind it. Cheryl was fulfilling a life long dream of coming to Paris with two former students from over 30 years ago, Barb & Karen, who kept in touch all those years and was finally making their dream come true. Karen and Barb are sisters and Karen invited her daughter Jenny to come and at the last minute their mom Shirley decided to come also, so it was a regular family affair.
We did my classic Marais tour, and the girls were most lively and energetic. Cheryl originally wanted to do one of my cooking classes but opted for the tour instead, so we visited many of the great food shops in the Marais. The highlight was the famous rotisserie chickens at the butcher shop on rue St. Antoine with the potatoes cooked in the drippings from the chicken.
Part of my tours are devoted to taking photos of my clients, so I convinced the girls to pose for this quirky photo above in the garden of the Hotel Sully, a magnificent former private mansion. I'm glad I suggested it because we all got a laugh out of it.
The girls also did a tour of Champagne which I suggested and they took some lovely photos.
I just got an email from Cheryl saying they had such a ball they are already planning their next trip.

Doris and Alfred, originally from New York and living in the Miami area for over 30 years, are devout foodies. I could tell right away from the first email I received from Doris when she generously invited me to have lunch with her and Alfred at the end of the tour even before she met me. Doris and Alfred had been to Paris a few times before but had never visited St. Germain or the Marais.
During both tours Doris wanted to document her food purchases (she was on a personal quest to taste the best macarons in Paris) by having Alfred take photos. From salad Nicoise at Ma Bourgogne, to a banana Nutella crepe on rue de Buci, to macarons at Laduree & Gerard Mulot, to savory souffles at Le Recamier they got a delicious taste of Paris they will never forget.
