I am thrilled to finally announce the official launch of my Eye Prefer Paris Cooking Classes. A few weeks ago I gave you a detailed account of the pre-launch class, which was a big hit.
I will be teaching the classes with chef and caterer Charlotte Puckette, author of the bestseller The Ethnic Paris Cookbook, all about the rich and diverse ethnic food of Paris including a list of different markets with recipes from the top restaurants and food shops. Charlotte, is a nice southern girl from Charleston, South Carolina and still retains her charming accent. She is a highly experienced chef, graduating from Cordon Bleu cooking school with top honors and has been cooking professionally in Paris since 1992. As most of you know, I was private chef and caterer in New York for 21 years before I moved to Paris, so I thought Charlotte was the perfect partner for this fun venture.
Each class will incorporate at least one recipe from The The Ethnic Paris Cookbook and we will prepare a rich mix of global cuisine from more than 14 countries including Lebanon, Morocco, Vietnam, Senegal, Algeria, Laos, Cameroon and of course, France.
Classes will start at 9:30Am, and we will meet at a fresh food market, where we will shop for seasonal and sometimes exotic fruits, vegetables, breads, cheeses, meats, seafood, poultry, herbs, and spices.
After, we will go to Charlotte’s private townhouse
with a professional kitchen on the ground floor, conveniently
located in the upscale 7th arr., minutes from the Eiffel Tower.
When we arrive we will discuss the menu over coffee and prepare
a three-course feast for the next few hours. At the end of the preparation we will feast on the meal we just proudly cooked along with wine that is specially selected to go with the menu.
If you want to go beyond the usual French cooking classes and have a unique and unforgettable experience of shopping the food markets like a true Parisian and spending the day in a French home, then please sign up for an Eye Prefer Paris Cooking Class.
We look forward to cooking up a Paris feast with you.
