While doing research for an new Eye Prefer Paris tour of the 10th arr. and Canal St. Martin, I came across these two delightful doors from an elementary school with what looks like fairy tale stories or fables told in brass figures.
17-19 rue de Marseille, 10th arr.
Metro: Jacques Bonsergent
I am pleased as punch to announce the launch of Eye Prefer Paris Tours, which are 3-hour walking tours I will personally be leading. The Eye Prefer Paris Tour includes many of the places I have written about such as small museums & galleries, restaurants, cafes & food markets, secret addresses, fashion & home boutiques, parks, and much more.
I look forward to meeting you on my tours and it will be my pleasure and delight to show you my insiders Paris.
Check it out at www.eyepreferparistours.com
Hi. I actually own an apartment at 11 rue de Marseille on the same block as these beautiful doors. The school is NOT a nursery school! It is an elementary and a middle school (through 3e French/9th grade American), which is clearly indicated on the school building.

Richard, what a FIND - those doors are fantastic. I can just see a set of your photos (beautifully framed & exquistely matted bien sûr) hanging in the chi-chi nursery of an Upper East Side co-op.
You are SOOOOOO talented!
Miss you...
xx,
M

That is brilliant! What a creative way to decorate the door.
