Les Canaux de La Mode is a bi-annual symposium and fashion event that bridges Dutch fashion designers with French couture craftsmen through creativity, design and crafts. I went to the vernissage(opening) for the exhibition at the Palais Royal Monday night and the clothes were quite fashion forward, more like works of art. I loved the black leather Batman-like dress called Dragon designed by Jeroen van Tuyl & Vanessa Ruiz, which i was told took over 300 hours to make. Another eye opener was the purple rayon dress with black patent leather woven straps by Oscar and Vanessa Ruiz(pictured above). If you have moment, stop by and see this fun, innovative show.
