Passage D’Enfer means literally hell’s passage. Located in Montparnasse off the Blvd. Raspail in the 14th arr., it is anything but, a country-like lane with charming attached cottages/townhouses. Rich with artistic former residents, Poet and writer Arthur Rimbaud, Japanese painter Foujita, sculptor Nikki de St Phalle, and sculptor Cesar, who currently has a major exhibition next door at the Foundation Cartier, have all lived on Passage D’Enfer.
