“It is not of importance that One be a Believer or Not:
What is important is to be Tolerant”
DALAÏ LAMA
This statement inspired sculptor Guy Ferrer to create a series of nine bronze sculptures in the Jardin de Luxembourg. Each year the Jardin de Luxembourg features a series of sculptures by different artists and sculptors. The simple statues are both primitive and sophisticated at the same time, and the neutral hues of the bronzes look quite striking against the lush green of the formal gardens surrounding them.
Guy Ferrer was disturbed by the new clash of religions and political unrest in the world and believes his sculptures will spread his vision of reconciliation and hope. He envisions having the sculptures displayed in other world cities and proposes six more editions. Each figure interprets a particular cult or spirituality and priests, Wise Men, and pilgrims represent some of them.
