Walking through Galeries Lafayette today, I stumbled on Christian Dior, John Galliano, Kenzo, Christian Lacroix, Valentino, Versace couture fashions, but they were adorning big-eyed Blythe dolls.
Blythe dolls, with big eyes that changed from green to pink to blue to orange with the pull of the drawstring, were first produced in 1972. A bit too scary for little girls to play with, the dolls were retired after only one year and then revived in 1997 by the art and fashion world, becoming intensely popular in Asia. There isn’t much more to say, as the pictures say it all, except that this exquisite show should not be missed. See sidebar photo album with additional pictures.

Love these new photos. I check into Richard's blog on a regular basis, so I know what not to miss in Paris!
