Yesterday, June 26, 2011 was the 5th anniversary of Eye Prefer Paris. Here was my first post from 2006:
About This Blog
This blog is about how a native New Yorker dreamed of moving to Paris …… and what he discovered once he got there. Come live this Paris dream vicariously through the eyes(and ears) of Richard Nahem. He writes his blog from his 18th century apartment overlooking tree-lined Place St. Paul in the fashionable Marais district of Paris.
I am still living in the same apartment and discovering Paris all the time. I think that's been my drive and inspiration for the last five years and nothing thrills me more, even now, than coming upon an undiscovered Paris treasure. I continue to be surprised, daily, by the beauty, the splendor, the mystery, the frustration, the quirkiness, the impossibility, the humor, the unpredictability, the surprise, the unexpected, the noise, the serenity, and the curious ways of the French I still can't figure out, in this magical city.
I want to thank and acknowledge my loyal readers and subscribers - I happily reached 5,000 subscribers this month- for reading of my adventures four times a week. I hope I have fulfilled my promise to you, making it possible to live the Paris dream vicariously through my eyes these past five years. I also want to thank those of you who emailed or commented last week about the upcoming celebration event with such warm wishes and sorry I couldn't answer all of you individually.
In keeping with the theme of five, I am giving away five terrific prizes to the first five people that correctly answer all the questions of the Eye Prefer Paris Quiz below. Alright, all of you EPP lovers, let's see who are the five most knowledgable.
