April in Paris, chestnuts in blossom
Holiday tables under the trees
April in Paris, this is a feeling
No one can ever reprise
I never knew the charm of spring
Never met it face to face
I never new my heart could sing
Never missed a warm embrace
Till April in Paris
Whom can I run to
What have you done to my heart
Yes, it’s April in Paris and we’ve been blessed with some beautiful weather lately. I’ve been strolling through the Place des Vosges, the Palais Royal, the Jardin des Plantes, the banks of the Seine and petit squares in the Marais gleefully watching spring arrive. Daffodils and tulips are poking their brilliant colored petals above ground and magnolia and Japanese Kwansan cherry trees are bursting their pink blooms. Delicate lilacs are also making their spring debut.
Parisians already look happier than they did a few weeks ago with smiles on their faces instead of cold weather grimaces and shivers. Outdoor cafes facing the sun are packed to the gills with people soaking up some rays and much needed Vitamin D. Children are playing freely in playgrounds unencumbered by heavy winter layers, climbing on their bicycles, hopping on scooters, scaling the monkey bars, swinging on swings and building sandcastles in sandboxes.
