Vermeer and the Masters of Genre Painting
Johannes Vermeer and his artist peers created the golden age of the Dutch Masters School of painting in the 17th century. Their great masterpieces are celebrated at the Louvre and include Gerrit Dou, Gerard ter Borch, Jan Steen, Pieter de Hooch, Gabriel Metsu, Caspar Netscher, and Frans van Mieris, who painted depictions of every day life of the time.

Camille Pissarro-Le Premier des Impressionnistes
Considered the first Impressionist painter, Camille Pissarro is having his first retrospective in almost 40 years. Pissarro traveled throughout France capturing the landscapes of Paris, Rouen and Le Havre in a new style of painting. Sixty of his works are exhibited in eight sections of the museum.
