Love really must have been in the air last autumn in Paris.
About a month after I received the request to plan Caitlin and Jaisen’s wedding, I received an email asking if I can renew a couples wedding vows. A good friend of mine from New York asked me if I knew a minister or someone who could renew the vows of two friends of hers who were coming to Paris. I told her I would look into it and in the next email she suggested that I do it. She said with my acting experience in New York I would be a natural to do it. Again, never one to back down from a paying challenge I decided, why not.
John and Pat, from New Jersey, have been married ten years. John proposed to Pat 12 years ago kneeling in front of the Eiffel Tower. After a two year engagement, they married. For their tenth wedding anniversary on October 26, they decided to renew their vows in the same place.
It was a second marriage for Pat and John and both have grown children from their former marriages.
I first met Pat and John on Sunday for a Marais tour and we had a fabulous and fun day. They were so easygoing and fun to be with and of course we couldn’t stop talking about all we had in common from New York. I could see that they were still very much in love.
On Monday, October 29, they had a reservation at Jules Verne in the Eiffel Tower at 1PM. I met Pat and John at 12PM to renew their vows in front of the Trocadero plaza, which has one of the best views of the Eiffel Tower. Pat looked smashing in a white wool coat with a sexy red dress underneath and John looked very French with a brown sport jacket and thick scarf tied around his neck. I was very moved by their vows and the love, support, and respect they had for each other. I’ve never seen two people look so happy.
I took some romantic photos of the lovebirds, trying to fight off the crowds in the background.
We kissed and hugged each other goodbye as they whisked off to the Jules Verne.
I wish Pat and John many more ten-year anniversaries in Paris and I will be honored to renew their vows again.

New! Eye Prefer Paris Cooking Classes
I am happy to announce the launch of Eye Prefer Paris Cooking Classes. Come take an ethnic culinary journey with me and chef and caterer Charlotte Puckette, co-author of the bestseller The Ethnic Paris Cookbook (with Olivia Kiang-Snaije). First we will shop at a Paris green-market for the freshest ingredients and then return to Charlotte's professional kitchen near the Eiffel Tower to cook a three-course lunch. After, we will indulge in the delicious feast we prepared along with hand-selected wines.
Cost: 185 euros per person (about $240)
Time: 9:30AM- 2PM (approximately 4 1/2 hours)
Location: We will meet by a metro station close to the market
