Sorry for the alarming headline but I wanted to get your attention for something very important.
There are plans for building new skyscrapers that will alter the beauty and uniqueness of Paris. Paris has long resisted skyscrapers with good reason, so it can retain its spectacular architecture. Mayor Delanoe is in already negotiations for three major skyscrapers to be built in the next few years that are expensive office and hotel buildings and will not in any way ease the housing shortage in Paris.
Please join me in protest to stop what could permanently destroy the skyline of Paris by writing a letter to Mayor Delanoe. There is an organization SOS Paris, which is dedicated to stopping these buildings from being constructed. SOS Paris is mounting a letter writing campaign to Mayor Delanoe and believes that the most effective way for him to get the message is to receive an avalanche of letters rather than Internet signatures. SOS Paris has set up pre-written letters for you to send and the mayor’s office address, so you just have to print it out and stick it in an envelope. If you are sending it from the U.S., it only requires three forever stamps for $1.05.
Please send this letter as soon as you can, so that next time you come to Paris your view of the Eiffel Tower won’t be blocked by a hideous, unnecessary skyscraper.
Click here to go to the SOS website for instructions to send your letter.
Please, please do this.
