I adore the Printemps windows this year but I have a slight problem with them. As fun and imaginative as they are, they symbolize promoting a brand rather than the spirit of Christmas. The windows are devoted to the Dior brand and their logo and name is bluntly splashed everywhere. As much as they appealed to me, I think tiny tots and kids will be disappointed.
Enough of my grandstanding and back to why I love the windows. They harken back to the original Dior New Look from 1947 with 74 handcrafted dolls/poupettes dressed in Dior haute couture and are hand made in the haute couture Dior atelier on Ave. Montaigne. Actress Marion Cotillard, the spokesperson for Dior, was the guest of honor to inaugurate the windows back in November. She was wearing a classic Dior black wool crepe suit with a cinched waist and black patent leather belt.

I love Printemps and Les Galleries Lafayette near Christmas they remind me of Harrods and Selfridges. Great pics, makes me reminisce!
