I like the Champs Elyseés-Clemenceau for it’s modern tile work and sharp geometric shapes. Some of the larger displays look like Impressionist paintings made out of tile.
There’s a large wall with illustration and bio of Georges Clemenceau, for whom the station is named after. Georges Clemenceau (1841-1929) was a statesman, doctor, and journalist. He became the prime minister of France in 1917 and was one of the founders of the Versailles Treaty.

Beware that this is not the stop for shopping part of Champs-Elyseés. Get off at Franklin Roosevelt or George V.

Clemenceau was married to an American woman, whom he fooled around on mercilessly. . . however once and only once she had an affair out of desperation, and he divorced her immediately, made a huge scandal and kept the children!
He was also formerly mayor of Montmartre (18th arrdssmt), and as president, halted the building of Sacre Coeur because he loathed it!
